Focussed on leading pan-Canadian labour market information (LMI) research. Joining the LMIC team of economists to develop and lead projects, initiatives and products that seek to unearth and address many LMI challenges and gaps in the Canadian LMI landscape. At LMIC, I have the opportunity to utilize my research, policy, project management, data, and analysis skills when looking at the different players, services, and products in the Canadian Labour Market Information (LMI) system.Whether that is developing RFPs and leading processes from start to finish, developing and managing research plans with internal and external stakeholders, analyzing data and drafting projects and product workplans from those insights- the role is an interdisciplinary and multifaceted one. This work allows me to apply my research and analytical skills, my experience in managing research agendas and complex projects, as well as leading and coordinating teams in agile methodologies.

I have completed the Masters of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the Munk School in Toronto, Canada with an emphasis on Markets and Innovation Policy. Having worked in both the public and private sectors in Canada and Colombia, I have become attuned to the complex social, economic, and policy issues facing businesses and governments alike. This has only furthered my interest in innovation, economics, and public policy. This interest guided me to specialize in these areas throughout my Master's program and focus on how we can use innovation policy to tackle pressing economic and social crises in our present world. How can we use innovative research and technology to re-think the way policymakers and businesses address a diverse array of social and economic scenarios? These are the questions I continue to ask and research as an MGA graduate. I engage with a wide range of projects using innovation policy, design thinking methodologies and research approaches to arrive at irelevant insights and innovativ solutions.

Co-authored a comparative study about Ottawa/Nortel and Waterloo/BlackBerry. I was responsible for researching and drafting the Ottawa/Nortel case. Part of the AML/ATF team committed to the proper adherence and implementation of institution-wide AML/ATF regulations and policies. I was part of a team that monitored and assessed risks all over Canada, Central, and South America, which required in-depth knowledge about current events, political and economic developments in the different regions, and what factors to look for when analyzing different risks. I was responsible for drafting risk reports and facilitating those to the appropriate unit for further analysis.I had the opportunity to become well-versed in Canadian AML/ATF regulations, entities, policies, and implementations and was able to attend various ACAMS training workshops to deepen my knowledge in this specific field. I became adept are following protocol pertaining to Scotiabank and understanding the ways in which a financial institution understands, rates, and mitigates risk-becoming proficient in KYC methodologies and processes in order to increase the value that our team provided to the financial institution and its AML/ATF efforts. We worked daily to provide a thorough and rigorous analysis of present risks to the domestic and international financial market.

At Burns & Wilcox, I was part of the Property and Casualty team, and specifically, the Construction team. We worked on a particular kind of risk underwriting that allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the construction industry in the province and the country as a whole. I was responsible for reviewing, analyzing and underwriting diverse risks with the supervision of a senior underwriter on the team and carrying out the whole application, analysis, and processing sequence in a timely, concise and independent fashion. During my time there, I was able to participate in talks about new products and developments with external and internal stakeholders and was given the opportunity to draft proposals on new products. Additionally, I had an extensive amount of client-facing experience as my role included maintaining strong and professional relationships with our partners and a strong commitment to marketing our strengths and abilities as an MGA to our clients.

Colombia

As an assistant project manager at a cultural non-for-profit organization in Cucuta, Colombia, I was responsible for the development and sustainability of a project pertinent to the NGO- creating a profitable and sustainable radio-station/cultural program. I was involved in the development of the cost structures and a strategic outreach plan while defining clear short, mid and long-term goals.I aided in fundraising and securing funds to assure the sustainability of the project. We worked hand in hand with GIZ(German International Aid) and local aid partners to address core issues of project development and project management. Market research for other possible projects for the NGO I created and facilitated workshops for strategic planning and project evaluation within the NGO I participated in training weekends with certain indigenous communities of Colombia ( Bari ) in cultural and project development initiatives. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work with internally displaced communities and at-risk women in cultural projects and training. Due to this work, I was able to attend a course at the University of Antioquia in Medellin, Colombia and received a Certificate in Cultural Marketing and Project Development

As a community outreach assistant, I was part of a team of four that was responsible for increasing the impact of the LAS program within the university itself but also in the larger Toronto community. We organized and facilitated many events, from small table talks to large conferences on all topics related to Latin America: the left in Latin America, Political Economy, Conflict, Human Rights, social issues, and many others. As the official blogger, I was responsible for carrying out background research for events and on our special guests and writing blog entries on these people and on the topics that they would be presenting. I was also responsible for the summaries of these events and so I had to diligently take notes during all events. I was an active member of the team, managing the twitter account as well as collaborating with the Facebook Page to increase our presence in the community. As a group, we developed the LAS promotional student video.
