I managed the business aspects of the family practice such as maintained and kept up the doctors credentialing. I ordered materials and supplies except for medical supplies. That was taken care of by the nurse. I paid all the bills, kept up with insurance, HIPPA, and PHI updates, made sure the charges were entered correctly by checking CPT and icd-9 to ensure they correctly identified. icd-10 will soon be here. I don't know what all the speculation is about. I understand it very well. I was also the receptionist for this small practice. My patient relationship was excellent because I treated them as I would like to be treated. I got to know them very well and they also knew my voice after I said "Jones". I created spread sheets to show the doctor how his practice was doing financially. I did other things as required or did what needed to be done.

Children's Health Services was a practice with a staff of 15 including the doctor and PA at the time of my employment. My job duties were the same as Jones Family Medicine with the exception that payroll was done in-house. I took care of all the billing and collections for the practice. Because of my efforts, the doctor saw his way clear financially to build a 7,000 square feet building now standing on Arlington Blvd. Right before he considered building, he called me in his office to thank me for my efforts increasing his receipts and following up on old claims and explained why his revenue was down before I got there. I managed and fixed all software issues. I am no expert, but I can figure things out. It got to the point that when anything was broken in the office, I was called upon to fix. I also ordered his Prevnar Vaccines ($10,000/mo). What ever was broken, I fixed or called someone to fix.
