The Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI: https://ooni.torproject.org/), a free software project under The Tor Project, has been examining internet censorship since 2012.I have developed the ooniprobe mobile app for both iOS and Android to examine the following:- Blocking of websites;- Presence of systems that could be responsible for censorship and/or surveillance;- Speed and performance of networks.This app has been designed to empower individuals around the world to test the “health” of their internet and to uncover evidence of internet censorship in their networks. Since all test results are published (https://explorer.ooni.torproject.org/world/), users can help increase transparency of internet censorship around the world.
