I was born and raised in Louisiana. In search of a medical profession that provided a good work/life balance, I followed the advice of my dad, and began researching the field of optometry. With lots of studying and prayers, God paved the way to the University of Houston, College of Optometry in Houston Texas, where I would become an optometrist AND meet my future husband, Dr. John Wimbish.In 1997, I graduated and entered into a partnership with Dr. Thomas Ballard, owner of First Eye Care Dallas. Over the next 22 years, we focused on our mission -which was to treat patients and employees the way we'd want to be treated- and the practice expanded to 5 locations, 10 doctors, and over 60 employees. In the meantime, my private life was busy and blessed, balancing my career, marriage, and raising three amazing children -Weston, Addison, and Aaron. In 2020 all five of our First Eye Care practices were sold, and I jumped on board with AllenEye.com as soon as I could! I'm excited that after 25 years of practicing, I finally get to work with my husband, Dr. Wimbish, my optometry school classmate, Dr. Lollar, and the other wonderful associates in the practice. Much like First Eye Care, Allen Eye has built a team of staff who is not only knowledgeable of eye care & insurance but truly cares for their patients and wants to serve them well. In 2019 they build a freestanding building that houses state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose & treat a broad range of eye conditions as well as an optical boutique with thousands of the latest designer frames. It's a blessing & privilege to join such a highly respected practice.I enjoy learning about each of my patient's interests and hobbies so that I can tailor treatment recommendations to provide the clearest vision possible, & improve their quality of life. I hope to welcome many of the loyal patients I provided care for 25 yrs. in Dallas, and I am especially excited to serve friends and family within the community I live. Being mindful that the gifts God has equipped me with are to be used, not only in providing the gift of sight, but also the gift of Him, I have and will continue to be “on mission” both locally and globally.
