I ran my first marathon in 2009 in 5 hours and 19 minutes. I said that’ll be my last marathon, period. Since then, I have battled two hip injuries, a bulging disc in my neck and bursitis in my shoulder.I ran my 5th marathon in 4 hours, 38 minutes – and signed up for another one next year.Every marathon I run has its highs and its lows. You want to quit. You feel your knees start buckling, and, well, there’s a lot of other unexplainable emotions that run wild when you’re running a 26.2.People think running is all about physical strength. Maybe. For me, I’d tip the scale to say it’s 70% mental strength. It’s setting a goal and sticking to it, knowing that every step is one step closer to the finish line. It’s about not giving up or backing down. You know what they say – life isn’t a sprint. It’s a marathon.I couldn't be prouder to be part of Vehicles for Change. My journey began on November 1, 2023, as Marketing and Communications director.
