I have accepted the position of Executive Director of the soon-to-be-open Fieldstone OrchardWest Assisted Living Community, beginning August 1, 2016. The Fieldstone communities are developed and owned by Cascadia Senior Living, which is an innovative, progressive company ran by people with great integrity, insight, and love for seniors. There are currently three communities that are up and running; two in the Tri-Cities (a memory care community and an assisted living community), and a memory care community in Yakima with the assisted living community that I will be directing, set to open in late fall or early winter 2016. Other communities are planned in other parts of Washington. I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible group of people and am looking very much forward to my new adventure! I was the Executive Director of the Ponderosa Assisted Living Community December 2003-July 2016. I took over as Director when Washington State Licensors put the Ponderosa in Stop Placement with 79 citations. I built an amazing team of hard-working visionaries; creating a safe, comfortable and happy haven for our senior population. During the last 8 years of my tenure, we had 4 or less citations per state inspection, (many years with only 1) and have had Deficiency Free Inspections also.I was appointed to the Washington State Assisted Living Board (now defunct) and was a Washington Health Care Association (WHCA) Chapter Governor 2006-2007, I am currently on the Washington Health Care Board of Governors as the Independent Assisted Living Vice Chair.During my time at The Ponderosa, we received numerous accolades for staff, resident and family satisfaction, we received the National Assisted Living Association's Assisted Living Programming Week Award after winning the Washington Health Care Association state award.
