Summer Research StudentUniversity Of Georgia - College Of Veterinary Medicine May 2017 - Jul 2017Athens, Georgia AreaMy project was to build a microscope system that could record videos and track mammalian cells traveling up the channels of an opaque wicking fiber. When completed, the system would give us an insight as to how cells travel vertically up the fiber and when calibrated, could be an early cancer diagnostic test. I got to design the clamp that holds the fiber vertically above a cell suspension and work with MATLAB to program the movement of the stage to image the fiber. At the end of the summer, a fellow research student and I presented our findings on a poster, attached below.
