Completed Master of Arts, Public Health/Addiction Studies - December 2018. In addition to my Master of Arts degree, I obtained my Addiction Studies Certificate of Advanced Studies, Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC Level 2), Qualified Health Professional (QHP), Internationally Certifed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (IC&RC), Certificates of Completion, Supporting Recovery with Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) and Correctional Counseling Inc., Moral Reconation Therapy facilitator training. Master of Arts in Public Health/Addiction Studies has helped me develop broad competencies in preparation for employment in a number of fields addressing alcohol, other drugs and behavioral (process) addictions. My goal is to help others understand the perspective of addiction as a serious public health issue. Further, understanding how substance use and addictive behaviors encompass addiction and the importance of specializing in prevention, harm reduction and counseling. Complete knowledge of the biological, psychological and sociological aspects of addiction is key to helping others get well and overall public harm reduction.One day at a time!
