Responsibilities as Vice President of Medical Management (12/12-5/14, 10/15-9/17) Quality Improvement (5/14-7/16) include:-Executive leadership in design and execution of strategic activities aimed at increasing member health, plan effectiveness, provider and stakeholder relationship building and shareholder value-Responsibility for start up of state specific plan for all Medicaid Managed Care Medical Management operations including Case Management (CHIP, TANF, SSI, ABD, MLTSS, and Foster Care) and Utilization Management-Leadership of 200+ team members including local and remote workers-Design and execute population based health initiatives that increase member health or quality of life-Evaluate utilization and health trends for patterns and service line or programming development needs-Oversight, monitoring, and facilitation of Quality Improvement program at Medicaid Managed Care Organization-Maintain key partner, stakeholder, and government relationships-Design and implementation of Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) and Long Term Care (LTC) program including seven 1915c waiver programs: Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED), Frail Elderly (FE), Physically Disabled (PD), Technology Assisted (TA), Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as well as the Work Opportunities Reward Kansans (WORK) employment program-Successes include the program design and implementation of KanCare, HBR reduction in select products, and successful comprehensive inclusion of all LTSS populations into Medicaid Managed Care, the first state nationwide

My position at KFMC involved executive leadership, oversight of state and federal contracts including the QIO contract for KS, and operational development for this quality improvement focused non-profit organization. Primary roles included:-Provided leadership for organization’s strategy, growth, and operations -Maintained accountability for all organizational finance, human resource, quality improvement, utilization review and communications operations -Acquired new business/contracts which generated a significant increase in organizational annual revenue over a 3 year period-Author of the Kansas Regional Extension Center (REC) proposal resulting grant award by the Office of the National Coordinator as sole recipient in Kansas-Clinical and administrative oversight of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contract (quality and utilization review) as well as state quality improvement and rural health contracts-Participant in numerous work-groups and committees on state and national level related to healthcare quality measurement, quality improvement, and data utilization for transparency initiatives to assist in policy development -Relationship management for various healthcare stakeholders, regulatory agencies, payers and professional associations -Local and national speaker on topics include quality improvement, performance measurement, data analysis and display, the global healthcare environment, issues unique to rural healthcare, CMS regulations relating to quality data reporting, and health information technology trends
