Dowd led a team of producers, writers, and editors to work closely together to create a constant flow of innovative programming. Between 1999-2002 Dowd served as Director of Communication for the Ansari X PRIZE. She supervised the public relations account resulting in 50 million media impressions in two years. She developed and implemented national educational project for middle school students called the “Eggs Prize,” and developed and coordinated public lectures and presentations at National Science Teachers Association, National Education Leadership Association, St. Louis Science Center, and many others.
