As a geography editor, monitored current events in Caribbean and Pacific Islands, Australia, New Zealand, and North and South Korea, and enhanced coverage of those areas by revising and writing articles and commissioning the same from experts. Created engaging and informative online features such as Behind the News articles, quizzes, and topical lists to increase reader involvement with Britannica content.

As editor in charge of several academic reference books, engaged outside project editors (academics in the pertinent fields) to lead each book. Helped create advisory boards; with project editors and advisory boards, developed title lists for each work and helped identify potential contributors of the essays. Kept extensive database records and schedules of submissions, assessed manuscripts from a range of authors, worked with a staff of freelancers, established and maintained timetables and budgets, and worked as a liaison among all project participants.
