I eventually landed in the College of Arts and letters where I began pursuing my professional writing degree. Through professional writing I have learned the various ways in which to effectively communicate whether it be in print, web, or video. In May of 2013, with the collaboration of two other students, we completed "For the 25," a 48 minute documentary chronicling mine and three other Marines experiences in Afghanistan and life upon returning home."For the 25" was an official selection at the East Lansing Film Festival and as of writing this it has over 475,000 views on YouTube and has been shown at veteran hospitals around the country as a means to help healing veterans relate to our experiences in combat and the troubles faced when you are no longer fighting on a daily basis.I am graduating from Michigan State University in the winter of 2014 with a degree in Professional Writing.
