I'm currently working for an Insurance Broker specialising in commercial and personal lines insurance, running the month end close process supporting financial and management accounts. The role is varied and very hands on including preparing month end journals under tight deadlines and responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations between the General Ledger and Policy Admin Systems. I'm responsible for review of results and explanation of variances to budget and also the support of Group budgeting and forecasting cycles and input to cashflow analysis. I ensure appropriate financial controls and processes are in place to ensure accurate and timely production of financial information and continued compliance with Sarbannes-Oxley. My role includes building strong relationships with internal and external audit teams to drive efficiencies and ensuring the process is managed to tight deadlines.Recent implementation of Workday General Ledger has created the need to ensure history reconciled to legacy systems, the new system is understood and month end processes remapped to reflect these changes.

On behalf of the Finance Reference Data team, I initiated, defined and embedded logic to reconciliations across Finance and Regulatory systems to ensure that legal entities align. This introduced a high level of control over reporting. Produced documentation and led training sessions for overseas teams to ensure this remains the case.Part of an agile team implementing a new Oracle system. This involved extensive data and process analysis, performing data extracts and reconciling to legacy systems. As well as resolving breaks in balance sheet reconciliations and advising on historical MI adjustments, I was responsible for legal entity alignment. I analysed breaks and concluded on changes required, secured approvals from business owners and governance forums to achieve this in a time pressured environment. Represented Ledger Control & Assurance in the implementation of the new accounting standard IFRS9 Financial Instruments to the chart of accounts. Worked closely with the IFRS9 project team to deliver changes required to reference data across multiple ledgers chairing working groups and generating status reports for a successful go-live in January 2018.Managed the Khalix MI reporting system to ensure this reconciled to Financial reporting and reflected all change controls such as Independent Commission on Banking (ICB) ring-fencing.

• Delivered multiple cross divisional restructures for the Group, making successful changes to all financial and non-financial data in scope. Planned and advised on the execution in collaboration with business stakeholders, managing an off-shore team to process these changes. Maintained a clear audit trail to allow for queries and helped auditors with sign off of the external restatement documents.• Led the management adjustment process on behalf of divisions providing approvals and guidance and ensuring controls were in place to allow for alignment to Financial Reporting. Accountable for daily reconciliations between reporting systems and the resolution of any reconciling items.

• Involved in the integration on both NatWest and ABN Amro into RBS MI reporting systems and cost analysis to focus on integration savings. Worked closely with IT on expanding the MI system to facilitate budgeting and forecasting.• Principal contact for a bank-wide External Benchmarking Survey over several years liaising with legal and IT teams in order to ensure safe delivery of data and to map the bank hierarchies to benchmarking categories to assist with RBS strategy.• As part of the Money Markets product control team I prepared the daily P&L over the course of a year - providing a valuable insight into managing daily deadlines and ledgers.• Divisional role on NatWest Markets Financial and Management accounts reporting developing reconciliations with global contacts to keep the reporting aligned
