I’m a strong and experienced designer, working with everything from photos, to vector graphics, to advertisements, to logo design, to font creation. I’m comfortable in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office, and in using HTML and CSS. My greatest strength and passion is visualizing data, and I particularly love to create infographics. My journey to being a graphic designer hasn’t been the most orthodox. After receiving my bachelor of arts in Theatre from Penn State University, I've been everything from an actor at a Renaissance Faire, to a licensed private investigator in the state of Texas, to a tailor, to a singer in a Celtic band, to owner of a small bakery. All along the way, I've used my natural talents for design to make my life and my workplaces better. My perspective as a designer is to always err on the practical side. While lovely aesthetics are important, if they make it more difficult to obtain information, they're also counter-productive. What makes a good design is that it conveys information effectively, as well as being nice to look at. In this vein, I feel my wider life experiences are a benefit to me as a designer. I've worked in all kinds of environments and professions, and can bring a wide range of perspectives to my work.
