As Admin Assistant, I worked in three primary areas: IT, Human Resources and Office Management.IT: • Troubleshoot technical issues with employee's computers, office printers, the offices server and our security system.• Communicate with outside IT service providers to create new users in our system and to retire their users after off-boarding from our organization.• Oversaw implantation of a new server to replace our old one, and mapped all printers onto staff computers.• Created expense reports for our monthly subscriptions and assist office manager in monitoring corporate credit card use.Human Resources:• Staff on boarding; created new user accounts for our organization and set up staff computers, trained staff on how to use our paycheck system and PTO request system, etc.• Staff off boarding; gathered all passwords and equipment prior to staff departure, provided off boarding information, organized farewell cards and staff send off parties.Office Management:• Answered all phone calls and emails to our various information and help accounts.• Ordered and organized general office supplies and Sasakawa USA Programs Merchandise.• Organized office-wide events.• Delegated conference room appointments and greeted guests coming to our office.• Maintained all office equipment, including cameras and computers taken on international business trips.

I worked with elementary school students ages 6 to 13 to begin their English language education and spark passion for international language arts. In this position I learned about Japanese culture and language and worked in mutual cultural exchange with my coworkers, fellow community members, and students. I taught an average of 14 classes per week, seeing first and second graders monthly,third and fourth graders weekly, and fifth and sixth graders biweekly. I taught age appropriate and engaging lessons on subjects such as colors, animals, numbers, and greeting to younger students. Older students learned more concrete grammar concepts such as pluralization, verb conjugation, sentence structure, and applied this knowledge to create full sentences and engage in basic conversation in English. I prepared presentations on American life and culture as well as supplementary learning material like bingo cards, English games, and spelling worksheets for students to practice their phonics. I also became an active community member and frequently joined my students in extracurricular activities such as volleyball and kendo.
