In 1989 I asked the question ‘Where is Away’ when we talk about waste. And since there is no away, the only answer was to roll up my sleeves and do something. Thus began the journey of Recycling Alternative. That journey has led myself and business partner Robert Weatherbe to dig deep into the world of waste and make a difference, pioneering innovative solutions, for the commercial sector, by delivering best practices sustainable waste management systems, stakeholder education and engagement related to waste reduction and recovery, forging community impact around waste through community-based models and collaborations.Driven by the questions: ‘What are we doing and why are we doing it?’ ‘ What is needed and what needs to change? ‘ Sitting on the sidelines is never an option.
