The Consortium For Research And Robotics
Technical lead for projects and research pertaining to new and experimental uses for industrial robots as platforms for art, design, engineering and human-machine interaction. The Consortium operates as an outwardly facing center of the Pratt Institute where it pursues experimental research, incubates small businesses interested in digital manufacturing and operates a diverse STEM education program. My role as Project Coordinator includes pursuing new research initiatives with industrial robots and assisting students and research partners in using digital manufacturing technology.

At Rush I worked with a variety of clients including architects, designers, artists, photographers, and inventors to interpret designs and fabricate finished objects. Projects ranged from large scale public lighting installations to furniture design to machined telescope components for astrophysics. My responsibilities included interpreting client needs to workable design plans, creating project timelines for fabrication, coordinating with contractors for outside services (materials, finishing, installation etc) as well as 3D modeling, CNC programming, operation of CNC machines, operation of manual machines (lathe, welding, finishing etc) and general shop maintenance.
