VisionPros is an online eCommerce Store for contact lenses and glasses competing with Clearly.ca. I work within the Web Development department maintaining and updating the VisionPros Web properties, and creating graphical items that are displayed on the website and used for print. Responsible for back-end and front-end functionality of sites. The company had 4+ web properties on Netsuite, Magento, and Wordpress that a small team of 5 maintained. It required a wide arrangement of creativity and multi-tasking to keep up with the demands of all the web properties. Ballistic Arts was my first professional web development experience. It a great place for my BCIT New Media Design and web development practicum, Ballistic Arts is a multidisciplinary creative agency that uses WordPress and waterfall project management to create customized web experience for their clients.Ballistic Arts Notable projectsProject: KinVillageFront-End WordPress implementation of design provided by the project manager from the Design team. Building off Ballistic Arts custom base theme, the KinVillage theme was built out from there.- General Content Input and Page creating based on sitemap and content from the client- Converting hardcoded HTML/CSS Home and Housing options demo pages into WordPress- Edit Ballistic Arts custom theme- Utilized ACF to create user-friendly admin back end for client- Utilized ACF repeater plugin to create a clean admin back end- Created custom shortcode for on-page link buttons & dual colour KinVilllage Title- Created custom post types for blog entries & About Us Administration and Board of Directors- Technologies used: WordPress, HTML5/CSS, PHP, Bootstrap, Adobe CC, jQuery, Advanced custom fieldsProject: Next EnvironmentalDuring my time at Ballistic Arts, I also got the chance to work with one of the web developers on Next Environmental. This is where I learn how to create and implement image maps. I did this using image-map.com to create hot zones on images created by the graphic design team. This allows for users to click on a large worksite image and see details regarding specific sections.

My time at Fido/Rogers was spent as a customer relations representative. My daily tasked included handling incoming calls and attempting to solve customer inquiries in a quick and efficient manner. A good portion of my job depended on my problem solving and conflict de-escalation skills. The ultimate goal was to have both the customer and the company come away from the call having come to a beneficial solution.
