Managing the 8 schools of SEK group, the leader of Spanish education sector. SEK International Schools, designed to meet the challenges of the XXIst century, offer the 3 programs of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, integrated with the national program. Skills and social-emotional learning are also part of SEK curriculum. Main responsibilities and achievements were:- Implementation of a professional management in a family owned business, while keeping alive the values of an organization that has been leading the market for more than a century. - Design and development of school’s human resources management processes, CRM & commercial strategies, and management reporting systems.- Curriculum Redesign to meet the XXIst century requirements, working with the most recognized worldwide experts (Marc Prensky, Gareth Mills, Stephen Heppell, etc).- Creation of the Global Education Forum, a think tank that promotes the transformation of the education model.- Customer retention growth in a big economic crisis despite price increase.- SEK schools in Madrid moved from their position at El Mundo schools ranking from 7 to 1.

Laureate is the world leader in private higher education. Operating a network of 45 institutions, in 21 countries, it serves more than 550.000 students. Laureate’s revenue in 08 was 1,961 million dollars.- Vice President Business Development, Mediterranean Region (Jan’08 to May’10). Reporting to the President of the Region, I was responsible of the M&A strategy design, operational due diligences, market and consumer studies, business plans and integration of new units in the network. Projects:- Valencia (Spain): Acquisition of ESTEMA and launch of Universidad Europea de Madrid campus (Jan/June’08).- Tenerife (Spain): accreditation and launch of a private university in La Orotava.- Malaysia: Due diligence and integration of INTI Universal Holdings (April’08 to April’09).- Morocco: Launch of the first private university in the country (Université Internationale de Casablanca), including assistance to the Government to issue a law to regulate the private universities (as of April’09).- Other projects in Saudi Arabia, Portugal and Italy.

- Vice President Marketing and Sales at Universidad Europea de Madrid (May’03 - Feb’07). Reporting to the President of UEM, and member of the Executive Committee. Under my management, UEM became the most successful private university in Spain, with proven results in terms of new enrollment, revenues and ebit. Main responsibilities and achievements were:- Deep knowledge of the Spanish university market, regulation and consumer needs. - Development of management tools specifically thought for higher education institutions, such as CRM, quality management, innovation processes, institutional relations, campus operations, sales force, etc. This know-how is nowadays the core of Laureate’s institutions management.- Management of the Marketing and Sales department (35 people, 8 million € budget). Design and implementation of the Marketing and Sales Plan, achieving sustained growth and profitability in a very tough market .
