The Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz) is a technical-scientific unit of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), working in education, research, innovation, technological development, and drug production.As the largest official pharmaceutical laboratory under the Ministry of Health, Farmanguinhos is not just a drug manufacturer but a Health Science and Technology Institute. In addition to developing and producing essential medicines for the Brazilian population, the Institute is committed to reducing drug costs, thereby increasing access to public health programs.Activities performed at the Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz campus:-Conducting activities in the Solid-State Studies Laboratory, involving physical characterization techniques and the study of the solid state of pharmaceutical materials;-Performing analytical tests including Particle Size by Laser Diffraction, X-Ray Diffraction, Infrared Spectroscopy, Thermogravimetry, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Optical Microscopy, among other techniques based on monographs, general methods, and predefined procedures (SOP);-Issuing technical reports;-Reporting results in detailed reports;-Entering data into computerized systems, analytical bulletins, general documents, and others;-Conducting studies and obtaining results to ensure that the final product meets the specifications imposed by official sanitary control agencies.

After an intense selection process with 360 applicants across Brazil, I was chosen for the prestigious Opportunity Funds Graduate Program, 2024 cohort. This program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, and the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, is designed to support talented international students who need financial assistance to embark on their educational journey in the United States.

Created in 1963, Cenpes/Petrobras is one of the biggest applied research complexes in the world. At Cenpes, we carry out the research that support business strategies and generate value for Petrobras. We develop technological solutions and technical assistance aimed at exploration and production of oil and gas, related to geosciences, reservoir engineering, rise and distribution, wells, subsea and surface technologies.In addition, we develop technological solutions and technical assistance for the areas of refining, gas and energy, logistics and product development for commercialization and sustainability, ensuring the implementation of technologies in the refining, transportation and commercialization segment.The development of sustainable technologies for the energy market, including the decarbonization of operations and the development of renewable energies, is also one of the focuses of operation.All services bellow were outsourced at Petrobras S.A., being the Research Center (CENPES):-Morphological and chemical analysis by SEM;-Preparation of samples for SEM tests according to the type of sample and purpose of analysis: Slides: washing and metallization; and perform specific or area-specific chemical analysis using specific software;- Issue a SEM analysis results bulletin, reporting procedures, parameters and significant considerations, including all images and chemical analyzes obtained;-Productivity report and sample control of the SEM Laboratory;-Review of the results report verifying the consistency of the data and standardization of the structure.

BRASA PRÉ is a comprehensive mentorship program designed to assist young Brazilians who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies abroad. The mentorship offers one-on-one pairing with mentors who are currently studying or have studied abroad, as well as complete guides on the step-by-step process for a successful application. Additionally, mentees gain access to BRASA's network, comprising over 9,000 students across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. I was one of the 20 selected from over 280 applicants.

Center for Food Analysis (NAL) is projected in Rio de Janeiro as the only analytical and molecular nucleus of reference in the private and academic sectors, inserting qualified personnel and services for technical-scientific activities focused on food. It operates in the field of physical-chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology and sensory analysis of food in order to aggregate this sphere of knowledge to the university-business-society-quality interface of LADETEC. This gave me:-Greater experience with scientific methodology and creating reliable data to ensure good results.-Projects presentation at the university-Participation in the Journey of Scientific Initiation.-How to write a systematic review for publication in scientific journals.

IMA is an institute considered a reference in Brazil and Latin America in the Science and Technology of Polymers area. I've worked in 2 projects:-Work in a project using pure and modified silica nanoparticles for evaluating the behaviour and interaction on polypropylene matrix through stretching in an industrial extruder.- Work in a project about synthesis of Janus nanoparticles applied to textile technology.This gave me:-Greater experience with scientific methodology, laboratory testing procedures and creating reliable data to ensure good results.-Projects presentation at the university-Participation in the Brazilian Polymers Congress, Brazilian Conference on Composite Materials and Journey of Scientific Initiation.

Pretas na Ciência is a network created to encourage, support, and give visibility to Black women who study and/or work in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This project is subsidized by the U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro (@consuladoeua.rio), which supports projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Brazil through cultural, exchange, and educational programs, and that value shared ideals promoting bilateral cooperation.

Cosmociência is a specialist company in the development and manufacture of specialty chemicals for the cosmetics industry. That offers a complete line of products of natural or synthetic origin, as well as assistance in the development of innovative concepts and products.This gave me:-Greater experience to perform physicochemical bench tests such as viscosity, density, weighing, sensory analysis, titration, refractive index for raw materials-Capacity to assist in Quality Control in a cosmetics input industry-Responsability for the release of raw material, aid preparation of reports, analysis of water quality and among others-Understanding how it is inside of an industry daily- Processing of internal and external non-conformities

Rio de Janeiro State University is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the country. U.S. News & World Report elected UERJ as the 5th best university in Brazil, the 11th best university in Latin America. I've worked in a project about synthesis of magnetic polymeric microspheres.This gave me:-Experience to develop Physicochemical bench tests, analysis, and characterization of samples. -Handling of equipment such as ultrasound bath, silicone bath under magnetic stirring, centrifuge -Analysing formulations made through Optical Microscope
