About Luana Schwendler

Finding solutions to positively impact society is what motivates me most! During my Chemical Engineering studies, I worked for over three years researching green polymeric materials. Moreover, I have developed bio-based photocatalytic composite membranes that enable the degradation of water contaminants under solar light. Working as a Sustainability Analyst at Impaakt, I analyzed, assessed, and wrote reports about organizations' environmental and social impacts.I am currently employed as a Doctoral Researcher at the Technical Electrocatalysis Laboratory (Universität Hamburg). My research focuses on the development and testing membrane electrode assemblies (MEA) for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEMFC). Furthermore, I investigate regeneration strategies for Ruthenium-poisoned catalyst layers, aiming to increase the lifespan of PEMFC.As someone with an investigative personality, I am passionate about scientific research, especially when combined with hands-on laboratory work.
