During my time at the Institute of Child Health I worked on three different approaches to find a potential treatment for cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is due to a mutation in the CFTR gene, a chloride channel involved in the regulation of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC). Loss of CFTR is thought to lessen the inhibition of ENaC leading to an altered ion.
