My name is Lucas Edwards. I am attending the Oregon State University College of Business, majoring in Business Administration with a Dean's Academy option. I was the captain of my soccer team and have learned skills such as leadership and organization. These skills have helped me both on the field and off. They help me connect with my team and create a tighter bond which helps us play better.For two summers, I have worked over the summer as a camp coach through Skyhawks. I started two years ago as a coach and after one year I was promoted to an On-Site Director. This has really challenged me leading a new team of coaches each week and having to manage camps with upwards of 30 kids. I learned a lot from that experience which furthered my skills of leadership, organization, patience, and flexibility. I also improved my problem solving having to balance 3 to 4 coaches with 30+ kids with most of them wanting to do different things.I have done a lot of work through youth sports as a coach and I am looking for places to work or volunteer that would take me farther in this career. I have worked both through my school with volunteering with middle school sports and through club soccer helping coach a team of 9 year old's.
