At IDS, I am responsible for data analysis, interpretation and understanding of radar based slope movements at large open pit mines and civil based land monitoring projects that are critical to infrastructure. This includes looking at velocity, displacement, geological data and historical geological events and understanding their importance to determine at risk areas. Along with this, a large portion of my position includes troubleshooting and maintaining our radar systems by means of electrical and mechanical engineering, radar theory, software/networking, and coding fixes across North America.

As an environmental geologist, I held responsibilities of conducting groundwater, drinking water, soil, and vapor monitoring and sampling of various contaminated sites. I would prepare and maintain glassware, sampling kits, detailed field logs, and chain of custody forms. During groundwater monitoring projects, my responsibilities included: taking accurate levels of groundwater, purging wells, water quality reporting and analysis, metals analysis, creating groundwater contour maps, reviewed plans for remediation, well abandonment, and technical report preparation. More field work included in my experience is as the following: observations and monitoring ( O and M) of remediation systems, geophysical subsurface investigations, UST oversight and removal, test borings, infiltration testing, wetlands delineation, nitrogen purging of wells. As an environmental geologist, Phase I and Phase II site assessments were a large portion of my responsibilities. Projects have been done for solar development, wetlands development, residential and commercial development, industrial audits, demolition, asbestos investigations, financing, risk assessment, real estate, and legal reasons.

In this position, I participated in jobsite inspection, post-jobsite completion inspection, landslide slope remediation/design, concrete/asphalt materials testing, soil sampling/testing, subsurface material use, subsurface compaction, inclinometer reading and analysis, rock/pavement coring and analysis, proper pipe placement practices, infiltration/ runoff control procedures. 2019-Part of the STAMPP Unit (Systematic Technique to Analyze and Manage Pennsylvania Pavement) or roadside development. As an intern, I participated in inspection, materials testing, and documentation related to highway and bridge construction projects, while gaining experience in ecosystem conservation, soil management, water flow management and flood control systems.
