Oversee and direct activities related to the valuation and central assessment of all natural resource, utility, and transportation properties in the State of Utah.

Oversee and manage the valuations of all centrally assessed utility and transportation properties in the State of Utah.

Prepare valuations of utility and natural resource properties including airline, telecommunication, mining, and oil and gas properties for property tax purposes. Participate in administrative hearings by defending valuations through written reports and verbal testimony. Explain financial and appraisal concepts to taxpayers, judges, and government officials. Conduct on-site reviews and inspections of businesses, equipment, and natural resources being extracted or mined from the ground. Research, review, and audit financial information of natural resources companies. Identify company capital structure, weighted average cost of capital, beta, and other useful financial indicators. Develop industry-specific discount and capitalization rates for use in discounted cash flow and capitalize net revenue valuation techniques. Establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders including taxpayers, local and state government officials, and other staff.

Maintained PacifiCorp's cash-flow hedging program by designating and de-designating hedges as needed, updating hedging forecasts, reporting internally and externally on hedging performance, and advising management of strategies and methods to improve hedging performance. Conducted accounting research to ensure compliance with GAAP.
