Consultant for entrepreneur mentorship program and nationwide Pitchfest event for women entrepreneurs in the outdoor industry.

Developed and led an online entrepreneur mentorship program and a live nationwide Pitchfest event where women founders have the opportunity to pitch their business needs to top CEOs and industry leaders.

I led a team of engineers who were developing spine, ear nose and throat, and cranial instruments for surgery. I helped them manage technical challenges associated with product portfolio and ensured we successfully met milestones. My team spanned across multiple business units and I developed a process around cross-business product development. During my time as a manager, I especially enjoyed leading innovation and brainstorming sessions to help solve design and business challenges.

I was the lead systems engineer for spine based surgical instrumentation design which included leading user needs assessments, determining how products will be used, performing safety assessments, and detailing out all system interactions. I was heavily involved with gathering customer feedback by attending surgeries, cadaver labs, and tradeshows to demonstrate and test products. I was also the project manager for software upgrade projects and was the point person for cross business portfolio management. The highlight of my time at Medtronic was when I chaired a three day Innovation event including brainstorming sessions, prototyping, surgeon speakers, innovation speakers, business executive speakers, idea pitches, and employee innovation booths. Attendees included engineering, operations, marketing, managers, directors, and VPs.

I managed and led several patient and volunteer clinical studies with the fellows and surgeons at the Steadman Clinic. The focus of the research was using quantitative MRI images to detect the early onset of osteoarthritis. I attended surgeries, collected surgical tissue specimens, and correlated clinical findings with quantitative MRI analysis. I also developed the software used to analyze the MRI images and was working in collaboration with a large medical imaging company to roll this software prototype into clinical software.

I designed a high speed bi-planar x-ray system for the injury biomechanics laboratory and used the system to track spinal cord deformation during injury using a surrogate model. I also performed cadaveric biomechanical testing to analyze hip fracture during a fall. I presented my research at several conferences focused on mechanical and biomedical engineering.

I investigated risk to children from the misuse of child restraints by conducting crash tests and analyzing the child dummy motion with various seat restraintsNote: This was a 3 month stipend research position due to visa restrictions.

My two main projects at Lockheed Martin were to design and draft a chassis for electrical components on naval ships, and to design and build research laboratory equipment for manufacture of new carbon nanotube composite material.
