This is a Research Body of the voluntary sector, with the new name "Centro Ricerche scientia atque usus per la Comunicazione Generativa", or "Centro ricerche sAu", a non-profit organisation, with a public purpose and with a strong political and social commitment. This is the last evolution of a Research Center - whose name was C.R.A.I.A.T. - founded in 1991 with the scientific and economic support of various national and international entities (including Ministries of the Italian Government and IBM). The research projects, developed in the field of Generative Communication and in collaboration with organisations, companies, institutions at national and international level, to enhance the public value of scientific knowledge by creating a synergy between the academic world and the territory that gives an active role to all stakeholders and citizens for a real and effective definition of public and citizen science.www.sau-centroricerche.org

The Lab Center for Generative Communication is inside the PIN S.c.r.l., Educational and Scientific Services for the University of Florence, a consortium company, mostly non-profit public participation. For years, our Center has been developing communication projects in collaboration with institutions, organisations, companies, and associations in different fields: health, agriculture, sustainability, smart cities, and cultural heritage. Our Center studies and applies the Generative Communication paradigm by working with experts and researchers from different fields: computer sciences, medicine, law, design, phycology, agricultural, food, environment, and forestry sectors. It is a model that considers communication as standard action to develop community building strategies involving different stakeholders in the territory.

THE CENTER FOR GENERATIVE COMMUNICATIONThe CfGC is a research unit. It is a community of researchers of various ages and backgrounds involved in a rigorously experimental study of the ‘generative paradigm of communication’, developed by Luca Toschi. From it’s beginnings, the research practiced at CfGC has been distinguished by its interdisciplinary and interdepartmental vocation.A GOOD COMMUNICATION? Is the one which generates resources In the internal and external reality of enterprises.For years the generative model of communication has been experimented by researchers with various educational, professional and cultural backgrounds, pursuing research pathways that do not reflect the usual, rigid differentiations and definitions of the academic world. The projects undertaken by the CfGC deal with both public and private institutions and companies, which operate in immensely varied and strategic economic and social sectors.OUR DYNAMIC NETWORK WITHIN UniFiBecause of its multidisciplinary nature, the CfGC collaborates with different departments within the University of Florence, such as: Computer Engineering, Architecture, Biology, Chemistry, Management of Agricultural, Food, and Forest Systems, Humanities, Experimental and Clinical Medicine, Earth Science, Economic and Business Sciences, Education, Pyschology, and Law.SELF-FINANCED AND SELF-SUSTAINED RESEARCHCenter scientific research is based on consultancy, on behalf of third parties. CfGC is completely financed by projects but the economic return is not the guiding factor that gives life to the projects. The potential return of a project in terms of research is the only parameter of the Center's activities. Each CfGC’s project is specifically choosen for his strong connection with Center's research objectives goals.
