Nutrition Education Coordinator
Current-Responsibilities include developing content and implementing programs for Early Childhood Nutrition Education, School-Age Nutrition Education, and Adult Nutrition Education.-Develop and update an annual calendar, conduct home-visits, lead web-based and classroom trainings for child care providers and field staff, support and train Afterschool and Summer Educators in nutrition concepts and best nutrition practices and messaging and conduct nutrition lessons for adults.-Implement the Healthy Children, Healthy Weights Curriculum developed by Columbus Public Health for family child care providers interested in going above and beyond current nutrition and physical activity recommendations for the children they care for. -Plan and implement 5 statewide Family Engagement Nights to celebrate the Family Child Care Providers who completed the Healthy Children, Healthy Weights trainings. The Family Engagement Nights serve as an opportunity to celebrate our providers and their families and a chance to engage the children and families they work with in a night filled with nutrition messaging and physical activity education in a fun and safe environment.
