Thesis title: How and why do plate boundary fault cores evolve: a case study of the Highland Boundary fault in Scotland. Research involved detailed field work, laboratory work and literature reviews on plate boundary fault structures. Work presented in several academic journals including as the feature article in the Geoscientist magazine. I was also invited to present this research as an evening lecture at several Geological Societies throughout the UK (Edinburgh Geological Society, Aberdeen Geological Society, Thames Valley Regional Group of the Geological Society)

Responsible for constructing a 3D geological model using a computer modelling package (Midland Valley Move), to assess geothermal renewable energy potential of a Scottish site. Work in collaboration with Town Rock Energy Ltd. and the University of St Andrews. Funded by the British Geological Survey and IOM3. Model forms forms key input in the Scottish Government Geothermal Feasibility Study (http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0049/00497934.pd).

Funded expedition by Regency Mines Ltd; partially funded by the Institute of Material, Minerals and Mining. Responsibilities included assessment of the field area for commodities of interest through detailed mineralogical description, rock/sediment sampling and production of a comprehensive geological map and memoir.
