I am used to working under extreme pressure and am highly trained for my current position, with a multitude of relevant transferable skills. I have qualifications in R.E.B.T which helps me take a boarder look at a situation and also key to helping other people calm down in difficult situations. Managing Challenging Behaviour, Mental Capacity Act, Positive support for social skills, which help me with understanding and managing the behaviours of the people I support whilst maintaining their values and characteristics with in their person centred care plans. I have training and qualifications in BSL and Makaton sign, which I use daily to communicate at work.I am a good communicator and enjoy problem solving, alone and as part of a team. Since 2011 I have worked with in a company that deals with adults with adults with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. I use my relevant skills to help people with their behaviour. I teach multifunctioning equivalent skills to the people I support, to help them access the community where previously they would be prohibited, giving them a good quality of life. I have been arranging for people from different organisations to come and give talks about their occupations to the clients I support. Through this have gained many contacts throughout the local council, police and fire and rescue departments. I am a conscientious person and have worked with vulnerable people since 2008. Before my current position I worked as an E.M.I care assistant in a care home. My entire working life has been dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable within society, which has been very rewarding. I was in the position to experience end of life and human deterioration of the body and mind.I am currently undertaking a degree in sociology bsc(hons), with the aim to progress onto an Llm conversion to law as a law masters. I have a passion for law and greater intellect which is required for my life goal of becoming a solicitor. I have spent since 2016 planning my education route which started with sitting my GCSE’s, as up until then I had not achieved any due to personal circumstances I found myself in as a child. I then went on to achieve an access to higher education diploma from Highbury College, which helped me find myself and what I had wanted to do with my life. I then received an offer to study sociology at the University of Portsmouth which I accepted, and am currently planning my Dissertation which is about my passion for health inequalities in the United Kingdom.
