Having completed my Masters in Applied Translation Studies, I became a Project Manager on K International's Marks and Spencer account. This role enabled me to enhance my propensity for organisation and time management, as well as improving my communication skills and allowing me to sharpen my eye for detail. I also built on my skills in the area of account management when appointed as Relationship Manager for M&S and advanced to taking on other clients in the food retail industry.I have always loved creative writing and languages and so decided to pursue a career in transcreation, building on the foundations of what I had learnt at K. I was lucky enough to be offered a new role at the digital agency Xigen, heading the development of their translation department, with particular focus on transcreation and localisation services. This was a new challenge for me but one which allowed me to grow in confidence and independence, and provided an important step in my language services career. In 2018, I gained a PGCE in Secondary MFL and have spent some years of my career teaching French, German and English as an additional language in various settings. This has proven invaluable in reinforcing my love of languages and given me a variety of transferable skills, such as increased flexibility and resilience. I am now in the role of Key Client Delivery Manager at Comtec Translations and looking forward to supporting the industry as it continues to evolve with the advancement of new technology.
