Chick Tech is a non profit organization that aims to build girls confidence and interest in STEM fields, through setting up fun and meaningful workshops and mentorships. Chick Tech also hosts talks and networking events to retain women already in science, technology, engineering and math fields.Proud to have co-founded the ChickTech Boston chapter, I built ChickTech’s credibility through hosting events with established organizations, recruiting volunteers and fundraising. I also designed the chapter branding material.

The best part about being an inspiration ambassador was inspiring young students to pursue engineering. Our ambassadors would give presentations on science and technology to K12 students, followed by a hands on design challenge. Often we gave presentations about our own engineering projects and experiences to groups of students, which allowed them to ask us questions about anything from what college was like to how a capacitor works.

Specific projects I worked on:- Evaluate Azimuth Device Automation Tool, and post processing tool DnA by identifying current and possible issues to FIT Team and Azimuth Vendors- Organize and search voice quality data for anomalies, investigate cause of outlying data

Working alongside PHD students in Smart Lighting research I learned the basics of Smart Lighting Technology, and got to work on some fun projects too:- Designed and built a color-changing lamp with RGBY luxeon rebel LEDs controlled by an Arduino, with servomotor-enabled full rotation- Customized and conducted experiments to characterize light output and thermo-properties of lamp- Wrote Matlab program that allows user to both choose a color from an IEE color map and set the intensity of the color
