AEMO has established the Advisory Council on Social Licence to better understand broader community sentiment, execution challenges and possible opportunities presented by the construction of new energy infrastructure. An inability to secure community acceptance or ‘social licence’ for new projects could create significant delays, increase costs and threaten the delivery of infrastructure that is vital for Australia’s transition to net zero emissions by 2050. Such delays must be considered as part of the Integrated System Plan (ISP) development cycle.

In this position I work under TropEco, the sustainability hub of JCU. My role includes Assistance in coordinating the BioRegenPlanning and Coordinating a Sustainability Symposium Assistance in the implementation of a staff accreditation program Student Engagement General campus sustainability.

As the student representative for the sustainability Action Group I represent the student voice on sustainability issues at James Cook University. The action group is responsible for implementing actions designed by the Sustainability Advisory Committee at JCU.

As a student mentor leader, I am responsible for leading a team of student mentors. These mentors help new students through the first semester in uni. Students require help learning how to use the online and physical services that the uni provides, knowing who to contact for problems that arise, and generally being welcomed into uni life. The mentor program provides new students with friends and connections so that they can feel a part of the university experience immediately.

As president of the sustainability club at JCU, I need to ensure that the club is on track with its goals projects and weekly meetings. Although I am the leader of this group we as a club are all leaders. Not only does this mean that we are each contributing to the clubs goals and events, it means that the club will always have a leader. Our projects involve implementing and improving sustainable systems on campus and in our community. We connect students with community and volunteer groups. As a club we also have weekly event in which we either have a presentation or movie from a group/individual who is focused on sustainability.

As a guide at Back Country Bliss Adventures, I have a number of responsibilities. The preparation and pack up of programs, pick up and drop off guests. Provision of an adventurous activity/day including; sea kayaking, river drift snorkeling, mountain biking, hiking and guided tours to Cape Tribulation. I am responsible for the safety and enjoyment of all guests on the tour.

My history is based in outdoor education. My first tertiary education was a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation that I completed in 2007. From here I spent 3 years as a guide. Being a guide entailed management of small school aged groups in wilderness settings. in My later 3 years in th industry I worked as a Program Director. In this role I was responsible for the planning, coordinating and running of school programs in a wilderness setting. These camps usually included a client base of 100 to 150 persons, of whom I was responsible for.
