Supervise a team of about 30 FTE's in addition to Per-Diem staff throughout all areas of Patient Access, Registration, Insurance Verification, Financial Counseling, Insurance Verification, and Bed Control. Assured that the Patient Access functions were completed timely and accurately. Assisted department manager/director in departmental hiring and training practices in accordance with personnel regulations.Worked closely with department management in other areas for problem resolution and process development. Assisted in conducting individual and group meetings with associates to review issues, updates, and concerns. Was responsible for department operation oversight to include but not limited to: • Provide daily department coverage.• Direct coverage and support as needed• Approve /deny PTO requests• Monitor attendance/timeliness to assure compliance to policy• Served as On-call management team member as scheduled• Respond in timely manner to after hour and weekend pages by staff and administration• Represent department at management and interdepartmental meetings. • Responsible for Patient Satisfaction initiatives, Employee Satisfaction initiatives to drive progress in the department.

Was responsible for insurance eligibility and benefit verification for all hospital inpatient accounts, handled notification and follow up to payer UR department based on contract requirements, worked closely with Hospital Case Management department. Was responsible for interviewing all patients admitted to the hospital as Self Pay and determining funding status; calculating patient responsibility based on contract rates as well as establishing appropriate Self Pay Cash packages and payment plans in accordance to hospital guidelines; helped patients apply for appropriate government assistance programs as well as assist with Charity Care applications. Provided training and support to all registration staff based on Quality Reviews of inpatient accounts and also based on any new health plan and/or CMS requirements. Provided support to Management team, and all other Patient Access areas as needed; assisted with patient registration for all patient types.
