Test Development Engineer (TDE) of Delphi-E&S validation group at MTC of Cd. Juárez Chihuahua. The role of the Validation department is to ensure that the products reaching the customer do meet the warranty requirements with a customer specified reliability limit. The TDE is responsible for the Hardware and Software requirements of a specific validation program. As a TDE, some of the task performed include: interpretation of tests requirements, electrical design for signal and load boards, implementation of required tests, interpreting results and validation documents, EMC validation plans (certain areas), provide technical leadership and ownership for the test plan/test methodology reviews. Provide technical support for the validation engineer and lab technicians, etc. The projects developed included clusters, crash sensors, sensing diagnostic modules, body control modules and pressure sensors for multiple platforms.In the Test Development Engineer role, I have worked in different product lines that include Crash Systems, Powertrain, Body Computer Modules and Clusters. I have worked with Sensing Diagnostic Modules (SDM) and crash sensors that “tell” the car when to deploy the airbag, with pressure sensors to check the pressure on the gas tank, with the body computer for the GMT900 program, the KIA power sliding door and Power Tailgate door and a cluster for TATA company.I was in charge of developing both the hardware and the Software that will monitor the proper functionality of the products while and after being exposed to different environmental situations like Humidity, High and Low temperatures, dust, vibration, etc.Depending on the product and the requirements provided, we used different monitoring systems and languages. I have worked with both Lab View and Lab CVI; I have also used a Delphi’s proprietary software called UTF and T&VOS.

Software Engineer for the Heat and Ventilated Conditioning Systems (HVAC) product line of Delphi E&S. The tasks performed were maintaining legacy software; analyze software requirements for new features and functions; design, implement and test software for real-time embedded systems, estimation of code size and engineering resources, provide technical support for the system engineer and customer, etc. The projects include the GMX215 (Cadillac XLR), GMX245 (Corvette) and GMT900 CJ2 (GM Trucks) HVAC control heads. As a Software Eng, I was able to develop two main projects. The first was the GMX215, a project that was done to create the new HVAC controller for the 2004 Cadillac XLR car.The project included the SW design and implementation of all the customer’s requirements and to be able to communicate with a faceplate that was delivered by Denso.On this project, I was able to travel to several places in the U.S. including: Mesa, AZ. Warren & Troy, MI and Kokomo IN. The idea of all this traveling was to test and debug some of the functionality on a prototype car or at the customer’s simulation lab. Some of the problems found during the development of the project could only be reproduce in an actual car, so traveling was required to be able to root cause these problems.These trips took between 1 to 2 weeks as average, but there was one trip that requires us to be on Troy for around 4 weeks to make sure everything was working correctly.The other project I work with was the GMX245 which is an HVAC used on the 2005 Corvette C6. This project was based on the GMX215, although this time, the design of the face plate was done by Delphi.
