Recommended using automotive manufacturing protocols to meet rates and Production schedules at an aggressively low cost. Cost savings will be multi-hundred-million $$$.

June 2010 to May 2016: Key BR&T engineer overseeing BCA’s development of the 737MAX Nacelle Tiß21S Inner Wall, one of that program’s largest projects. In 2012, that BCA Propulsion team won the prestigious Engineering Excellence award. In 2013, his team was awarded a Technical Replication Award for using Tiß21S in a significantly new application. In all, nine specifications were either created or revised, an engine stand demonstrator was tested, a 5000 coupon Allowables program was competed and 20 shipsets of Inner Walls were delivered to Production.3. January 2008 through May 2010. Continued in the role of BCA Propulsion Technology Focal bringing technical expertise in metallurgical alloys & their processes and provided leadership for applications designed using titanium matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites, polyimides, and inconel high temperature material systems.

In 1987 co-designed the Willard-Smith Drop Bottom Aluminum Solution Heat Treat Furnace, the first close-coupled furnace in the world. It is the prevailing furnace design throughout industry, including Trek, Bombardier, Toyota and Spirit. Today, over 300 furnaces are in operation throughout the world made by over 25 manufacturers. Since 1987, every Boeing commercial airplane has components on it because of this furnace design, over 15,000 airplanes. 1988-92 Lead engineer who optimized the ‘W Condition’ aluminum sheet forming process used within Boeing’s Fabrication Division, including the recommendation of their two largest hydropresses, tooling redesigns, new raw material specifications and other process capital.
