I am an educator with nearly a decade of experience dedicated to nurturing and empowering students. I have taught in various settings, including three years in charter schools and six years with the NYC Department of Education (DOE). I hold certifications in childhood education and special education, along with a master’s degree in special education focused on behavioral disorders.Teaching has always been my passion, and my journey has been incredibly rewarding. However, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical need for social-emotional support among students, inspiring me to pursue a second master’s degree in school counseling. I am excited to be just a month away from completing half of my program, soon becoming eligible for my internship certificate which would allow me to take on a school counseling position. With my extensive teaching background, I am eager to integrate my knowledge of educational practices with my growing expertise in counseling. I believe that every child deserves support not only academically but also emotionally and socially, and I’m committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment for students to thrive.
