As a Forwarder you work with a carrier or often multiple carriers to move the goods. As a forwarder you do not move the goods but acts as an expert in the logistics network to find the best and cheapest solution. Carriers can use a variety of shipping modes, including ships, airplanes, trucks, and railroads, and often multiple modes for a single shipment. As a Forwarder you must be able to think and act fast in urgent situations - you must be able to handle more jobs at one time without loosing focus - and work in a stressful environment .Often you have different transport regulations you have to be aware of depending on what country you ship your cargo to. Could be Customs Clearance documents or dangerous goods documents etc.
