As part of a global leadership team driving access to corneal care in low- and middle-income countries, I spearhead the planning, strategy, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation of results-driven programming to affect policy change at national, state, and local levels. With a focus primarily on Latin America, India, and China, I manage cross-functional departments across different regional markets to implement policy-influencing strategies that align with our organization’s goal to eliminate corneal blindness by 2040. I also lead the expansion efforts of our sight-restoring programs in Latin America through strong relationship and stakeholder management as well as strategic investment and results-driven execution of our prevention, policy and advocacy, eye bank development, and clinical training capacity building programs.

Working directly with our colleagues in our London, UK, headquarters, I lead the visioning and build out of a new education and advocacy program to engage and assist healthcare providers, hospitals, and government agencies in developing actionable blindness prevention programs in 19 countries throughout North, Central, and South America. In addition, I managed a $500K direct annual budget, and spearhead strong working relationships and programmatic alignment with global stakeholders at the World Health Organization and United Nations, ensuring synergy with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Provided leadership and direction for 150 annual eyesight restoration and treatment programs in 40 countries with more than 200 volunteer surgeons serving local communities. Assessed the risks to safety of personnel at target sites. Managed over $6M in medical supplies and equipment. Cultivated strategic partnerships with surgeons, non-government organizations, and corporate sponsors across Asia, Africa, and Oceania markets.• Promoted to Director after two years in International Operations Manager role .• Developed Diabetic Retinopathy and Cataract Resident Training Program in partnership with Wills Eye Institute and George Washington University.• Grew program reach by an average of 15% annually.
