An ambitious and driven student in my third year of my Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough University. I also work in my University’s Formula Student team, LUMotorsport, where I work within the high voltage department. My work has included:-Designing parts for the car’s MGU with CAD.-Designing the frame for high voltage parts to sit on in the car.-Assisting in thermistor de-bonding. During my time at university, I have particularly exceeded in the following modules:-Engineering Mathematics 1, 2 and 3. This has provided me a strong foundation to my engineering knowledge, and has given me the ability to analyse engineering problems effectively.-Introduction to Aircraft Design, allowing me to understand what areas should be focused on to create a good aircraft design. This knowledge was tested by designing and manufacturing a control line aircraft, which was fully functional. -Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics. These areas of physics make up the cornerstone to my understanding of both turbomachinery and aerodynamics.-High-Speed and Low-Speed Aerodynamics. From these two modules, I have shown a great understanding of how lift, downforce and drag is generated as well as the effectiveness of certain wings under specific conditions. I’ve also had the opportunity to analyse CFD and wind tunnel data through these modules. -Turbomachinery and Propulsion has given me a strong understanding of compressors, turbines and gas turbine engines as a whole and how to analyse their effectiveness in generating thrust for various aircraft. -Control Engineering has provided me with the knowledge of how to understand engineering systems, and how to create models for engineering applications. I have also made use of Simulink to develop these skills further. -Electrotechnology has been helpful in understanding some basic knowledge, which developed into an understanding of power electronics and how they apply to various engineering applications. It has also given me a greater understanding of my work in LUMotorsport. -Mechanics of Materials is a module which has developed my understanding of structures and given me the skills to be able to analyse their effectiveness. -Structural Design Project allowed me to apply many skills to design a helicopter propeller and an aircraft wing which was later designed and tested. This made use of FEA as well as my abilities in Mechanics of Materials. My design skills from LUMotorsport were also particularly helpful in creating excellent CAD models.
