If it was easy, everyone would do it; that is why I am always challenging myself.Reflecting on the time I have spent at my first job post-graduation, I am incredibly appreciative of the leaders, culture, and opportunities Ovative Group has offered me. I was granted the role of a Product Feed Management analyst, which was not what I had planned for coming out of UW-Madison. In fact, I had no idea what a product feed was and had to learn my role from scratch! Thankfully, college prepared me to learn quickly, and now I am becoming an expert in my field after such a brief time. Our team was also a newer team at Ovative when I joined, as well as the smallest. Those two characteristics have allowed me to grow immensely for a few reasons:Being on a team of four, I had to learn to become a leader immediately. Taking on responsibility early helped me grow into an accountable coworker and granted me opportunities I thought I would not have until years down the road. Being seen as 'the Feeds guy' in our office has allowed me to practice my communications skills daily as I continue to juggle multiple projects, client asks, and internal questions. I can attribute this growth to being a part of a small group, but I must give credit to how amazing my team has been as well. The leaders who have trained me have been nothing but spectacular. They have allowed my curiosity to help me grow and learn as opposed to shying away from questions. This has swiftly molded me into becoming an expert in my field and feeling confident in my work. Being confident was one trait I was nervous about coming out of college; would I excel in my role, would I be able to learn quickly, would I work effectively with others? Looking back now, I am proud to say that I have excelled in all those areas and have exceeded my expectations in who I am as a coworker and growing individual. Looking toward the future, I am excited to grow past my role as I continue to stay curious about how Ovative works as a whole. I am proud of my position since graduating and am thrilled to see where life leads me next.
