BA modern languages and translation graduate from Cardiff University. High level working proficiency in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. Growing up in Spain for 10+ years, attending both primary and secondary school opened the doors to my passion for languages. After doing local translation for friends and family as a kid, my passion for this area grew with each job. This lead me to pursue translation and modern languages at University. I studied Chinese as I have always been interested in Chinese culture and wanted to learn more. Through this course I was able to expand my knowledge on Chinese culture as well as learn its beautiful Mandarin Language. Whilst completing my degree I was provided the opportunity to study abroad in Taiwan, where I studied at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages in Kaohsiung. Here I was able to expand my Chinese linguistic skills as well as immerse myself into Taiwanese culture.Whilst at Cardiff university I learned about the world of translation, with discussions about the complexities of translation theory and methodology. These complex issues translators and interpreters face opened a new fascination for solving these complex issues, especially with regard to their implementation. By exploring these issues in depth it assisted in building my problem solving and logistical thinking skills. Now I look forward to taking my skills and applying them within the field of translation and localization.
