About Luke Braidwood

I am a scientist and leader with over 10 years of research experience in biotechnology and agricultural product development. I have a PhD and a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from Cambridge, and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Oxford.Currently, I am developing novel capabilities and products as a senior R&D scientist at MiAlgae. This involves the full project life-cycle, line management, and the development of strategic collaborations.I have expertise in RNA silencing, precise genome editing (Cas9, HDR), virology, and molecular biology. I have designed and cloned genome-editing and RNAi constructs, developed tissue-culture pipelines, performed data analysis and visualization, and contributed to patent applications and regulatory submissions. I have also managed international research collaborations, including grant writing, training partnerships, engagement with regulators and farmers' groups, and field work.I am passionate about combining high-tech and affordable technologies to meet the challenges of our time. I believe that the best innovations are created when people with diverse experiences combine, develop, and challenge each other's ideas. I am always eager to learn new skills, explore opportunities, and brainstorm!
