Mt. Isa, QLD

• Installation of light and heavy fab structural steel
• Lead a team of 16 boilermakers and welders to install all components of the bypass stack and HRSGs on unit 21-22 as a relief leading hand for a period while my supervisor was unable to attend the project.
• Coordinating with SIEMENS personel on installation proceedures from bypass stack baffle installation to solutions and methods for correcting N.C.R.s.
• Coordinating with Sun Eng rigging supervisionon lift studies/procedures for heavy lifts such as stack sections both main and bypass and H.R.S.G sections including the transition from the turbine.
• Being one of only four welders passed out on FCAW and MMAW I also had the duty to weld out all Non Destructive Tested full penetration butts and Mag Particle tested fillet joints.
• After completing my Health and Safety Representatives course I also had the duty to complete weekly safety observations on different work groups to help in the prevention of accidents onsite.

• (ORIGIN ALLIANCE) D2G Ipswich motorway upgrade
• Structural steel installation for the entire building duration of the darra to bundamba connection and redbank foot bridges
• Coordinating with Origin Alliance supervision on highway lane closure and openings for our nightshift team
• Daily prestarts with dayshift to discuss issues and how production was coming along from one shift to another to ensure the project ran smoothly

• Reading isometric drawings, installing spooled sections, directing riggers as to what is required for installation.

Jeebropilly And New Accland New Hope Coal Mines, QLD

• Taking information from New Hope management on maintainence to be undertaken in an allotted time as to get the machinery operational for the next rostered shift.
• Taking information from crack testing technitions on how best to attack problems.
• Modifying front walls of 11 seperate truck bodies where design faults were found, coming up with a slight change to the cutting of the plate to rectify this problem.
• Working with an extended onsite team to fix extensive cracking on an ex 3600 boom arm, having to gouge the man hole off to gain access to cracks inside boom also gouging and rewelding all cracks outside. All welding.
• When I wasn’t on site I was back in the workshop fabricating anything from side dump buckets for Rio Tinto to hydrolic tyre handlers to be sent to Columbia.

Signed on as a fabricator for the trucks side fo the workshop. In the time I’ve spent at Austins, I have worked on every aspect of the fabrication and assembly of the WESTEC KOMATSU’s and LEIEBHERR truck bodies, from fabrication of the Bisalloy floors, front and side walls to the assembly of the pivots.
