Director Of Conservation Impact
Current- Lead the creation and continuous revision of the organization’s spatial data-centric strategic conservation plan; translate complex and interdisciplinary data into priority-setting information; engage staff, board members, and other stakeholders in planning work.- Oversee the organization’s data nucleus, streamline interdepartmental data workflows, and supervise data governance. Establish methods for data security, backup, retention, recovery, and disposal. Design and implement organization-wide data quality-control standards, policies, and methods, including detailed metadata and procedural documentation.- Acquire, analyze, process, maintain, and effectively manage a variety of geospatial, environmental, demographic, and real property data for map creation, transaction assistance, stewardship and conservation defense.- Create, validate and update detailed and accurate maps, visualizations, legal exhibits, and reports for a wide range of purposes and audiences.- Create, maintain, and manage interactive web applications and mapping services for both internal and external use.- Continually evaluate relevant technological advances and promote the usage of appropriate technology and applications; stay apprised of current climate and environmental-related science and data developments and how they might impact the organization’s work.- Provide technical support, software and hardware training, and serve as an interface between GIS staff and the rest of the organization.- Give professional presentations and communicate scientific and technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.- Coordinate and lead mapping initiatives with external organizations, supervise internprojects and other internal GIS team efforts. Communicate effectively with landowners and community organizations.- Conduct careful field work, including remote mapping and data collection, and oversee the data collection pipeline.
