Develop trainings, tools, and resources to better equip students with desired industry skills.

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Mission Concept and Proposal Writing academies by managing participants and interns.

Developing novel construction of lunar landing pad reinforcement structures through a NASA STTR Phase 1 contract.

The Lunar PAD project began in the L'SPACE NPWEE academy in the summer of 2019, where our team created a proposal for our idea. We were selected as the top proposal of the academy and received $10K to continue researching our idea. After almost 2 years of continuous improvement to our design, a Design Readiness Review presented to the Chief Technologist at Marshall Space Flight Facility, and constant support from our collaborators, we traveled to the US Army Base - Camp Swift in Texas and successfully 3D printed a 20-foot diameter prototype of our landing pad design. After a delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our team returned to Camp Swift in February of 2021 and performed a hot fire test using an M-class rocket motor. Our pad survived the test with minimal damage, and from the data collected, we will improve landing pad designs for the future.
