I am responsible for leading the technical delivery of iRAP assessments throughout the Asia Pacific region in countries such as India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. My primary role is to provide training and support for road authority engineers, design consultants and other road safety professionals to enable them to undertake the coding of road attributes, use ViDA the iRAP online software to generate and analyse Star Rating results and produce investment plans and reports. I also provide implementation support for new and established programmes to help ensure that the iRAP Safer Road Investment Plans are used to guide effective infrastructure investments that are proven to reduce the risk of death and serious injury. Identify cluster sites and routes for treatment and investigate and define collision problems. Undertake feasibility studies, evaluate, design and implement road safety solutions. Project manage, design and implement town centre and village enhancement schemes including traffic calming, shared surfaces and Low Speed Zones. Also a member of internal Road Safety Audit team and WSCC Road Safety Interest Group.

Process condition data and propose optimised programmes of work. Member of the Safety Plus Steering Group with responsibilities to audit and report on Safety Plus highway inspection regime and provide technical support to Local Area Offices. Procure, record and audit highway inventory data and road condition data. Assist with the development of GIS and other projects relating to condition survey data.

Undertake routine and ad-hoc highway safety inspections. Investigate and respond to highway related complaints and queries. Effect highway repairs, organise and supervise contractors. Identify requirements for structural maintenance and surface dressing programmes. Liaise with developers and Statutory Undertakers. Investigate accident claims and produce reports for Legal Services Unit.

Collection of automatic and manual traffic count data (inc. volumetric, vehicle classification, speed surveys, turning counts, pedestrian/cycle counts). Processing, validation, analysis and supply of traffic data. Graphical analysis and presentation.
