My career started after graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in Chemistry when one of the professors recommended me to the contract research organisation Wilmington PharmaTech. There I spent 10 years honing my analytical skills and learning cGMP regulations while testing investigational new drugs. With the help of coworkers and mentors I grew in familiarity with chromatography instrumentation and methods including HPLC, LCMS, GC-FID, and GCMS.By the end, I was teaching as much as learning by leading the training program for five new analysts in addition to helping troubleshoot any instrumentation errors that came up.Pursuing a change of location, I found a position at ACT lab performing active ingredient and contaminant testing of consumer products. Here I have continued to grow my knowledge of chromatographic analysis with the addition of high throughput techniques.
