I'm an Accounting Major with a minor in Entrepreneurship at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. While studying, I'm also working on a startup business bakery called Goob's Baked Goods. I enjoy baking, and love to see people enjoy what I make for them.My family has been making pies for generations, and I personally have been making them since I was about 4 years old, and people have told me all the time how much they enjoy what I make for them. So I decided to start a business in Logan Utah after seeing a gap in the market for pies.As for the accounting, I've always been good at basic math, and that took me in the direction of business. I also thought that knowing accounting would be incredibly helpful to have for a startup business since it means that I can do all the accounting stuff myself, saving me money, and allowing me to know exactly how my business is doing.I've also had the opportunity to serve a two year mission as a full-time missionary in Las Vegas, and Toronto Canada. The experience helped me to develop good communication skills that I can use in any job field. It also gave me a solid work ethic, because I wasn't constantly monitored by leadership, I had to learn to want to do the work myself, and helping others from all different walks of life made me want to help out even more.Aside from that, I had the opportunity to lead a project to become an Eagle Scout. I collected food and created pantry packs, ready made meals, to deliver to homeless shelters and schools all over Utah to help out those who didn't have enough for themselves. With the help of others, we were able to gather enough food to make over 200 pantry packs, breaking the previous record of most packs gathered.I look forward to putting these skills toward my business and I hope that I'm able to brighten people's days with them, because everyone deserves a smile, and a good pie can certainly help.
