In a post pandemic world where many employees became accustomed to the benefits of working from home, are employers luring staff back through the ‘hotelification’ of offices? Office design is or, should be shifting it’s focus on being a more attractive place and the wellbeing experience. Although, his has been coming for some time with the likes of Facebook, Amazon and google providing quirky and attractive places of work, it has been accelerated by the pandemic. Equally, hotels are providing better business and commercial spaces with conference centres, lounges, and other facilities. The connection between the office and hotel might be stronger than ever having seemed so disparate, so recently. Don’t mention the metaverse… I joined SGP in 2019 as a Studio Director responsible for managing and delivering planning applications for key strategic employment sites in the industrial and logistics sector as well as leading the office and leisure sectors. Proceeding my time at SGP I had over 10 years’ experience working for multidisciplinary practices in the Midlands.
